Cheap Airsoft Guns

If you are looking to dive into the exiting and fast-growing sport of airsoft, perhaps you are concerned about finding the right gun that won't break the budget and will allow you to jump in at a decent price. While there are several high-tier guns that can cost you quite a bit, you probably would want to wait on such a gun until you are well established and more skilled in the sport of airsoft. The truth is that there are many cheap airsoft weapons on the market which will go along way for the average player. However, before you start searching, it is wise to educate yourself as to the varieties of airsoft guns available and how they operate.

There are three different categories:

Electric: these are the most expensive, starting around $200-$300+; consist of an electric motor and battery pack. Require the most care and maintenance to keep up;

Gas Powered: powered by compressed air and simulate a real recoil, or "blowback". Moderately priced, non-blowback models start around $40+; need to maintenance the compressed air;

Spring Guns: known as cheap airsoft pistols and rifles, or "springers" use a spring mechanism to fire; the original airsoft gun. Little to no maintenance needed.

Spring guns (springers or cheap airsoft guns) are the original airsoft guns. These guns shoot by using a mechanized spring which needs to be cocked for every shot fired. These are the least expensive airsoft guns and are most popular among beginner players and casual hobbyists. The great majority of airsoft players use these cheap airsoft guns either during practice, or as a backup gun. Because the construction of these cheap airsoft guns is fairly simple, they can be found online and in some stores for as little as 20 bucks.

Keep in mind that although they are called cheap airsoft guns, and do not cost that much, there is no reason to be concerned about quality, these are great guns. While there may be some cheap knock-offs of airsoft weapons on the market, as long as you find a cheap airsoft gun made by a reputable manufacturer, you will have nothing to worry about concerning its dependability, ruggedness, and overall quality.

Airsoft Shotgun - The Though Guys Airsoft Guns

Airsoft Shotgun - The Though Guys Airsoft Guns

Every airsoft fan has a favourite type of gun. Regardless of your preferences there's a certain attraction to shotguns that appeals to us all - to that dark place inside us. Maybe it's the way they're portrayed in the movies. The shotgun was always shown as being a real tough guys weapon - you needed to get up close and personal to use it. Shotguns were always shown to be cool and airsoft shotguns are no different in that regard.

airsoft shotguns,airsoft shotguns images

There's a wide variety of shotguns available to the airsoft fan. Everything from the old reliable double barreled shotguns to far more current styles. The double barreled model is often sold in a gas variant model and is one of the very few gas powered airsoft shotguns available on the market today.

Some of the most popular airsoft shotguns are the old pump action style (which are spring powered) and these have the advantage of allowing you to fire BBs in rapid succession. The vast majority of airsoft shotguns are spring powered and tend to be the tactical style - used by the police and military although you can get many other styles and models.

There is also the option of choosing from the full stock or cutaway model of airsoft shotgun. The cutaway models have a pistol type grip and no stock to put against your shoulder. There's an even share of this type of gun available to airsoft fans. What suits you most will depend on the style of shotgun you like and your own personal shooting preferences when it comes to buying your airsoft shotgun.

Despite the fact that many of these guns are spring-powered pump action models they can hold 40 or more rounds. This allows for rapid reloading and for you to get back in the fight quickly. This offers a distinct advantage over an airsoft rifle where you need to cock it from a non-firing position. The shotgun allows you to fire from the hip in a rapid firing pump action style. Airsoft shotguns are probably more suited to close quarters airsoft games - maybe a type of urban combat simulation although they would still be useful in most types of airsoft combat.

So why not try on an airsoft shotgun for size today? You just might like it!

Airsoft Sniper Tactics

The games played with airsoft guns are the kiddo version of the Hollywood action flicks. In this the two teams of children hit one another with airsoft rifles and lay down the opponents with the non metallic bullets fired from these guns. There is plethora of rifle models available in the market, but the Airsoft Sniper Tactics remains to be the most loved one. They are quite easy to handle and gives a stylish look and feel too

.

The spring powered snipers are the ones which are easy on your pockets and are quite near to their real version. Being cheap doesn't mean that you settle for low quality guns. It will take the fun out of your gaming and will end up being a trouble. Also the low grade rifles use metals and plastics which are not appropriate for your children's health. The spring powered rifles have a problem that they need to be loaded and cocked every time a shot is made. On a different note, electric and gas powered rifles are automatic in this.

Airsoft Snipers are best at shooting enemies from a long range. It allows you to aim precisely on the enemies even from a distance and makes you safer. It is a misconception that gas or electric powered rifles are better than the spring powered. The ability to adapt themselves as per the shot is best seen in spring powered snipers. If your opponent is using guerilla war strategy with you, then playing with snipers can add spices to the game and give you real thrill. All you need is to be accurate in shooting your camouflaged enemies.

Airsoft Sniper Tactics gives you the excitement and feel of real battle fields. It allows you to get into the authentic fervor of the game. You need to take on certain upgrades that make your sniper rifle more vibrant and dynamic in its operation. Airsoft Sniper Tactics are same as that of the strategy used by the military in its operations.

As we have talked about earlier, all airsoft sniper rifles are generally spring powered, but you can also get electric powered and gas powered Airsoft Sniper Tactics. The real feel of a sniper comes only when you use the spring powered version as it has to be cocked up every time you fire a bullet. It also requires a firm grip and a tough handling. The support stands are also available to give your airsoft sniper a firm and rooted base, so that you can aim at your target without worrying about its shaking movements. A high level of patience is required to handle this rifle.

Airsoft Snipers are the best gift for anyone who is an avid fan of this sport. It gives him an enthralling experience of real time shooting. Many players make snipers as their first gun and feel good after using it. Always take care not to compromise on quality as it may degrade your performance and can also be injurious to health.

Airsoft MP5

Airsoft MP5

The Heckler & Koch MP5

The MP5 is a 9mm submachine gun created by gun manufacturers Heckler & Koch in the 1960s. 'The 'MP' in 'MP5' is short for the German Maschinenpistole, meaning 'machine pistol', and it's light weight, compact size and rapid fire have made it a highly successful and widely adopted weapon across the world.

Used by law enforcement units in over 40 countries including the British armed response, the MP5 has seen a large number of variants to adapt itself to any situation thrown at it. However, the most popular variants are the MP5 PDW, featuring a foldable skeletal stock and vertical fore grip, and the MP5A4, featuring a full stock and standard (angled) fore grip.

The MP5 airsoft gun

The first MP5 airsoft gun was first created by Tokyo Marui, but is now produced by a wide range of manufacturers including Classic Army, Jing Gong, Cyma, Well and ACM.

The build quality and materials used will vary from brand to brand, but most have hardened plastic bodies made of ABS or another similar plastic. Due to the compact nature of the gun, most MP5's will use version 2 gearboxes, holding the motor in suspension inside the handle between the bottom plate and the gearbox itself.

The guns use slim curved magazines which can hold high capacity magazines of up to 200 bb's. While a 200 round magazine is relatively small for an airsoft gun, it is possible to carry 5 or 6 quite easily with suitable webbing and even double them up with double magazine clamps if required.

Miraculously, the guns ingenious design means that they can use 8.4v 1400maH stick batteries, threaded along the top of the gun (similar to the AK47's) and connecting at the fore grip. A battery of that type should last you most of the day (assuming you're only firing at what you can actually hit) but it is advisable to change it before it runs out, as removing the battery under fire can be a very difficult task!

Inner barrel length

Unsurprisingly, the compact nature of the MP5 does mean that their inner barrels are very short - in fact, the inner barrel of the MP5K, a mini version of the MP5 with no stock, is only 110mm. This can mean that their effective range is shorter than many airsoft electric guns, however this can be extended with a higher quality barrel or hop up, such as those made by Systema or Prometheus.

Alternatively, the inner barrel can be made longer by extending it into a silencer or using a larger MP5 variant such as the MP5 SD series, which features an elongated fore grip and integral silencer, allowing inner barrel lengths of up to 363mm.

MP5's in airsoft game

Like any airsoft gun, the MP5 can be a help or a hindrance depending on your play style, but one thing that can be said is that they are incredibly versatile.

The MP5PDW is an incredibly effective CQB weapon. It's just plain fast - fast to move with, fast to turn with, fast to draw and fast to fire. It's small size is a huge benefit when playing indoors as it keep your profile compact, doesn't poke to far around corners and keeps your gun where your shoulders are pointing.

Even in woodland games many snipers find that the MP5K is a fantastic sidearm, and its ability to use stick batteries and 200 round magazines vastly outperforms other machine pistols of that size such as scorpions, tec-9's and mac10's.

Of course, an MP5K is too small a primary weapon in woodland games, and that's where the variants come in. The standard MP5A4 is more than capable as a primary weapon, and if you're a sneaky player you'll love it's light weight size when you're crawling through the mud.

In my opinion, the only things MP5's are not suitable for are as support weapons and sniper rifles, but if you are one of those players, I'm not really sure why you'd be reading about MP5's in the first place!

So get out there and get one, you won't regret it.

b) ICS: They have an image of making reliable quality guns and have a long time history of about twenty years. Their guns are very durable and are famous among experienced airsoft players due to the fact that they use materials from the best quality which extends to the internal workings of the gun, such as silicon steel bushings, metal gearboxes and steel gears.

c) Classic Army: A Hong Kong based manufacturer which manufactures high quality AEGs with metal bodies. The durability of the internal components is their main focus plus the additional parts such as metal gears and gearboxes. Their recent version of AEG has been improved and has the ability to shoot over 400 fps with improved metal internals.

e) Crosman: A prominent America airsoft guns manufacturer and distributor. Their guns have a reputation of being reliable, dependable and durable. Their guns range from entry level air guns which are suitable for beginners to high powered adult airsoft pistols. They are a brand where their guns are reasonably priced and properly constructed and this causes them to be popular among the youngsters.

f) CYMA: They are best known for their guns which come with low price tags and fairly low durability. Their guns are mainly recommended for beginners. However, they have recently introduced a new series of AEGs made of full metal and wood which come with high quality, performance and reliability. Their updated models help them to gain popularity as the manufacturer of quality and affordable guns. A lot of their newer models are duplicates of Tokyo Marui's AEGs.

g) Cybergun: They collaborate with manufacturers such as KWC and CYMA to produce officially licensed highly detailed duplicates with full branding of famous gun producers such as Kalashnikov, Colt, SIG SAUER, UZI, Desert Eagle, Smith & Wesson, FAMAS and Thompson. Although they do not manufacture the guns themselves, they are one of the most commonly known airsoft pistols brands.

Getting to know about airsoft pistol brands can help you to make a wiser decision when you are purchasing your gun.

M4 Airsoft Rifle for Beginner

Beginners to the world of airsoft military simulation games have one thing in mind before they even plan to play, and that is to make sure they have the perfect weapon to start out with. With this in mind, an M4 airsoft rifle is one gun they can consider as a starting point for their new found hobby. And in this article, we get to explore this gun a little more in detail.

Gun enthusiasts and those who even know just a hint about guns or rifles in particular will definitely recognize a standard M4 airsoft rifle replica out of the box. This is because the M4 carbine rifle is a much used gun in the military and police force. The carbine exemplifies power in a melee gun, and aside from its great use in close quarters gun combat, it can also snipe pretty well, with accuracy not found on most low end airsoft gun replicas.

But of course, all of that specs still depend on the manufacturer of the said M4 airsoft rifle. When it comes to airsoft, Tokyo Marui is probably the most famous airsoft manufacturer due to their ability to provide excellent replicas for their customers. However, when it comes to power, a Tokyo Marui M4 airsoft rifle won't pack much punch as those new models we see today in the market. This is because the Japanese have strict regulations on the power of airsoft guns, which definitely plays a big part in the manufacturer's side.

So, if you want power, the Jing Gong M4 airsoft rifle may be the next best choice. It's perfect for the beginner airsoft enthusiast as an all-around great gun since it comes with a fairly cheap price tag, and it packs more power too, making you look more like an expert in the battlefield.

Airsoft Sniper Rifle Spring vs Gas

While gas powered and spring powered airsoft sniper rifles both offer pretty similar performance, there are a few things to be considered. For example, you never have to buy anything other than airsoft BBs for a spring airsoft rifle, but you have to buy green gas (or propane with the right adapter) to power a gas airsoft rifle.

Again, the performance between gas and spring airsoft rifles is pretty similar, but one important thing to consider is that the temperature can affect the velocity of a gas powered airsoft gun. Generally this wont be much of an issue though, unless you play somewhere that is abnormally cold. One benefit of spring airsoft rifles is that they always perform exactly the same regardless of the temperature. Also, as far as price goes, spring airsoft sniper rifles are always cheaper than the gas powered ones. The difference in price is usually about $40 - $80 or so. So if you combine this with the fact that you have to buy gas on an on-going basis (assuming that you have a gas powered airsoft gun), it becomes pretty obvious that a spring powered airsoft rifle is a much cheaper choice.

When it comes to appearance, you cant really tell spring and gas powered airsoft sniper rifles apart, other than by closely examining their magazines. The magazines are totally different between the 2 guns, since the gas airsoft rifles actually store their gas inside of the magazine, while spring powered airsoft guns only store BBs inside of their magazines.

All of the spring airsoft sniper rifles are bolt action, single shot guns. In fact, they can ONLY be single shot, since you have to cock back a heavy spring each time you shoot them. Most of the gas powered airsoft sniper rifles are bolt action (single shot) too, but they can also be semi-auto. This is a huge advantage that the gas powered airsoft sniper rifles have over the spring powered sniper rifles.

Another benefit of gas powered airsoft sniper rifles is that they generally shoot at a higher velocity than the spring powered sniper rifles. Gas airsoft rifles usually shoot around 60-80 FPS faster than spring powered airsoft rifles (assuming that the guns are left stock, and have not been modified at all).

Accuracy is exactly the same between spring and gas powered airsoft sniper rifles. However, in some cases you may want to use heavier airsoft BBs for gas powered airsoft guns, due to the fact that they usually shoot a littler faster than spring airsoft guns (and the faster your airsoft gun shoots, the heavier the BB that you will have to use in order to maintain consistent accuracy).

When it comes time to decide whether to go with a gas powered or spring powered airsoft sniper rifle, just remember that each one has its strengths and weaknesses. If you want a semi-automatic airsoft sniper rifle, then you will have to go with gas powered one. If you want to save money, and never want to worry about buying gas, then go with a spring powered sniper rifle.

Airsoft Tokyo Marui MP5 Review

In the 1960's Heckler & Koch, a German weapons manufacturer, began developing a family of sub-machine guns designed to provide close range burst fire to security forces. The MP5 (Maschinenpistole) family has been a widely used and adaptable series of weapons. This is similarly so in the Airsoft world. Walk onto any skirmish site in the U.K and amongst the most popular weapons (other than the Armalites) are variations on the MP5.

Furniture and Quality

The MP5 series has a distinctive design, and the Tokyo Marui version has kept quite true to the Real Steel weapon. The weight of the gun is not heavy, yet heavy enough to give poise and purpose to the user. This is complimented by the sturdy feel of the weapon and the lack of cheap creaking plastic.

Naturally the material and colouring of the gun is the standard black part metal / part ABS plastic. The stock is fixed firmly into place like the barrel and receiver. A real rubber butt plate finishes off the stock. On this version the metal parts (not including internals) are the flash hider, front sight assembly, charging handle, charging handle tube (only metal on the HG version), magazine, mag catch, mag release, both sling hooks, trigger, selector switch, rear sight (only metal on the High Grade version). It certainly is enough to give it a realistic feel.

Tokyo Marui have included markings on the weapon to make it look like a real H&K weapon. The fire selector is marked in the usual red and white 'easy to understand' diagram. The fire selector clicks solidly into each firing mode and doesn't slip. On the left hand side of the gun above the magazine it reads "Kal.9mmx19" and on the top of the receiver it is stamped with "HK MP5" and then a fake serial number. The only TM markings are on the right hand side of the gun, again above the magazine well "Made in Japan Tokyo Marui".

Performance

In my reviews I base the ability of the weapon to skirmish as priority in preference to punching paper. As most Airsofters will intend to skirmish with this weapon, mostly CQB too, I have to say that the sturdiness of the gun gives you confidence to "use" it.
The standard boxed version includes a 50 round magazine. I adopted the review weapon second hand I had the benefit of two hi-cap magazines. The magazines click firmly into place inside the magazine well. Once you are ready to fire the ambidextrous selector switch can be easily flicked to your preferred firing rate. The single (semi-automatic) selection is quite good offering a stable.

Airsoft Game Types: Medic

Medic is a type of airsoft game that gives players who have been hit the chance to get back into the action once they have been "healed" by a player designated as the medic. Typically the game is played with the goal of team domination or death match, but there are many variations that can be played with medics. If you are participating in a skirmish using this scenario, be sure to learn the specific rules for being healed, or "respawned" for the group organizing the skirmish.

In a skirmish, the player chosen as the medic is usually either unarmed or lightly armed. When another member of the medic’s team is hit, the medic can “heal” the down player, who may then return to the game. The player who has been hit is required to stay down until the medic arrives in most cases, though depending on the particular game, sometimes a hit player is permitted to go find the medic after a certain period of time has passed. Players may be permitted to defend themselves with their airsoft guns while they are down, or they may not. A medic makes it possible for individuals to stay in the game longer, but there are usually limits dictating the number of times a player can be healed and return to play.

With the ability to bring a hit player back into the game, the medic is key to the endurance of the team in an airsoft skirmish. If the opposing team hits the medic during play, the medic is out of the game, and the other members of the team can no longer be brought back after being hit.

Some teams play the game with a higher degree of realism, with the medic imposing fake "injuries" that hinder players in some way depending on where they are hit. Since players are often brought back multiple times during a skirmish, playing airsoft with a medic can take more time than the typical 'one hit and you're out' scenario. When you are getting ready to play a game of this type, be sure you have plenty of time and ammo!

Airsoft- Alternative to the Video Game

Airsoft provides game lovers with a real life experience game. You are part of the game, not only do you get to handle and use resembling military equipment you also get to wear the uniform, at lest some protective wear that almost resembles the attire. It is a safe game to play that as all the equipment and attire are made just for that. It can be played by anyone and is restricted to those under seventeen years of age.

Airsoft is basically a modified and much more exciting game to Paintball. The rules to the game originated in Japan. One of the major differences being no use of pint gel in Airsoft. This has resulted in honesty being one of the foundations of the game. This opens up opportunities for cheating practices. Marshals monitor the game to make sure there is very little cheating that occurs. As with everything there are rules and these stand unchanged and are enforced. The basic rules of the game include:

  • - If you're hit, you're out of the game.

  • - You cannot use physical force, as the object of the game is to shoot the opposition, and have fun.
The game has increased in popularity from Japan all the way to Europe. You can spot specific areas that have been built specifically for the game. It is not only just a game for some but a hobby. Some people indulge in it occasionally and the game has become one of their common activities in their lives. The good thing bout the game is the safe precautions taken which are already part of the attire and the equipment. So for all those tired of playing those video games you can try Airsoft which brings you into the real life scenario.

The choice for many SF Units and Counter-Terrorism Forces the world over. The G36c boasts the EG1000 motor, version 3 gearbox, folding stock and a bottom rail mount. Additional side rails can be easily added for laser and flashligh upgrades. The G36c has pin-point accuracy and packs a nasty punch. The magazines will even clamp together for lightning quick mag changes. Military forces and law enforcement in Europe and USA are currently using the real Heckler & Koch G36C. The H&K G36C is increasing in popularity and will soon be a one of the leading military & law enforcement assault rifles -such is the design and quality prowess of H&K. So, not surprisingly Tokyo Marui has taken over the project to make G36 as electric airsoft gun. Featuring solid construction and extreme attention to detail once again, this Tokyo Marui AEG appears to maintain the high quality standards of what we have learned to see from Tokyo Marui.

Tokyo Marui’s Airsoft AEG’s are the standard to which other Airsoft companies aspire. Tokyo Marui’s Airsoft AEG’s are characterised by their high quality ABS Plastic Bodies and Metal MechBox. These high quality parts make the Tokyo Marui Airsoft AEG’s very durable and they keep shooting straight and fast under almost any punishment. These guns use rechargeable batteries and typically when unmodified, fire 0.2g BB’s at around the area of 270- 305 feet per second and 0.8~1J of kinetic energy. Tokyo Marui’s Airsoft AEG’s are very reliable and realistic and you will not be dissappointed with your purchase. Please note, Tokyo Marui’s are cast in authentic gun molds and due to customs regulations some of the guns are not allowed into the U.S. without having their original trademarks removed.

Electric Airsoft Rifles use batteries as their power source, they’re usually fully automatic, and they shoot very fast. If you are looking for continuous fire fun, this is the type of Airsoft Gun for you - just hold down the trigger and watch those BB’s stream out, one after the other, in a straight, swift line - which means fun and entertainment, plain and simple. Benefits of The Airsoft Laser Gun Sight

Those who remember the classic film The Terminator will probably never forget the cool image of the laser sight that was mounted on Arnold's .45. Actually, one will never forget if one purchases a replica version of it in the form of an airsoft gun laser sight and replica .45. One does not have to do this because one is a huge fan of the film, but rather because one enjoys playing the game of paintball, and the laser sight really changes the scope of the game.

The Laser Sight Really Exists

the airsoft laser sight, airsoft laser sight, laser sight, green airsoft laser sight, airsoft laser, airsoft laser sight images, airsoft laser sight articles, airsoft laser sight benefits

Contrary to popular belief, the laser sight is not a product of the mind of a science fiction writer. Rather, it was a science fiction writer capitalizing on the lack of laser sights being used as a gimmick in a movie to help define the seriousness of the nature of the Terminator's business.

Now, just like the Terminator, one who enjoys the game of paintball can mount an airsoft laser gun sight and show the whole world that he or she is fairly serious about their desire to win the game. The presence of the airsoft gun laser sight definitely gets that feeling of severity across, provided that the rules of the game allow for an airsoft gun laser sight, as it may be illegal under certain rules and tournaments.

An Unfair Advantage?

Is it cheating to use an airsoft gun laser sight? Well, it cannot be illegal if the rules allow for it. Does it offer an unfair advantage over a player who does not have an airsoft gun laser sight? This requires a two pronged answer: if they are not illegal under the rules of play, then there is a decided advantage, and that is not an unfair advantage since the opposing player has the option of using the laser sight, but decides not to.

A Big Advantage?

Keep in mind that simply having an airsoft laser gun sight does not automatically mean that one will win. An advantage is just that, an advantage. It is certainly not a guarantee. There still needs to be a great deal of skill in the hands behind the gun. If the skill is not present, or there is a disproportionate level of skill between the combatants, then the laser sight simply will not provide a gigantic advantage. Actually, there can be a significant disadvantage if one decides to put blind faith in the airsoft gun laser sight alone.

The stock is unique and is made up of two ABS plastic halves that are bolted together around an 8 inch metal bedding block. This acts as a chassis for the barrel group.

Using this rifle is also comfortable as the UTG MK96 has an adjustable cheek rest and a 20mm scope mount, making firing and different surfaces much easier. The UTG MK96 also comes with an adjustable scope mount, adding a scope to the rifle is also easy for the shooter. Shooters with this rifle will ultimately agree that the spring bolt of the UTG is easy to pull back especially when the UTG is a pull back airsoft gun that shoots at 430 to 460fps. Capable of taking out a man sized target of over 200 feet, the UTG means business as it isn't your average sniper rifle.

The UTG weighs an approximately 3340g or 8.5lbs, contributed mainly by the heavy metal content of the rifle from its barrel, receiver, bolt, bolt handle, safety switch, trigger, magazine release, magazine, front sling mount, rear sling mount, bi-pod quick release unit, bi-pod adapter and bi-pod. With a barrel length going up to 4 feet long, this is no weapon for the light hearted. The UTG Rifle is made for extremely cold weather and it comes equipped with a trigger and thumb safety for added security and protection, so that accidental firing can be avoided.

Firing up to 30 rounds from its magazine, the UTG MK96 has a Spring Bolt Action system with a muzzle velocity of 460fps as mentioned earlier with 0.2gbbs. When you purchase a UTG MK96, shooters will also get two magazines, a bipod adaptor, bipod and an instruction manual that contains information on the gun, storage method, maintenance and cleaning as well as recommended items to buy such as rifle lock and trigger locks. The UTG Deluxe Picatinny purchase will give shooters extras as it comes with a mount foldable bipod complete with a tri-rail bipod adaptor. The gun whoever does not come with its own scope so shooters have to go get it themselves at a firearms store.

The UTG MK96 has a one piece precision metal barrel and an adjustable hop up system that allows shooters to use several different weights of high polished BBs. Added to its already extensive features is the rifles' high power pin point accuracy performance making it effective for long range shooting.

Tactical Duostock

Price: $80

Introduction-
The Tactical Duostock is a really nice ergonomic stock. Most airsofters elect to upgrade their stock by adding a battery carrying stock, but if you don’t go that route, check out the Duostock.

Why the Duostock?
Normal M4 stocks are built so that when wearing body armor or web-gear only a small portion of the stock is actually in contact with the operator’s shoulder when the rifle is in the up position. The Duostock has a larger surface that is curved in order to enable fuller contact while the rifle is up.
With this shape the rifle “rolls” into position naturally, and the operator’s eye lines up with the optics naturally.

A “normal” M4 type stock. Notice the small amount of surface area in contact with the shoulder.

Quality-
The Duostock is made of the same type of plastic as any other (real steel) M4 stock. It is very tough. Duostocks come in Dark Earth and Tan. The adjustment paddle is much stiffer and sturdier than most M4 stocks.

Conclusion-
If you wear an IBA or similar body armor, the Duostock will help a great deal. It provides a much more stable stock weld than a normal stock. I fitted this stock to my real AR-15 and did some shooting. With actual recoil, I found that my time between aimed shots went down with the Duostock due to less weapon shifting.

Opening an Airsoft Field

So you have the airsoft gun, ammo, the tactical gear, and most importantly you convinced some friends to hop on board, what is left? Now you just need a place to utilize all your new equipment. If you are lucky enough to live in one of the airsoft hot spots, there is no lack of places to play. However for the other ninety percent, we usually have to rely on the generosity of private property owners.

airsoft field, indoor airsoft field, airsoft arena, indoor airsoft arena, airsoft playground, indoor airsoft playground, how to open an airsoft field

Some of my fondest airsoft memories are of a small group playing on a private wooded lot or friend's farm. As our group grew and more and more new faces arrived, it became apparent the need for a legitimate field was necessary. Your neighbor may be fine with you and a dozen of your friends and co-workers using his overgrown acreage to play airsoft, but when that number grows to a couple dozen private property owners begin to get nervous.

Whether you choose to lease space or use your personal property, airsoft field insurance is your next step. Insurance for airsoft usually runs a couple thousand dollars a year and covers the big three: property damage, liability, and medical. The insurance company may require copies of lease agreements, field diagrams, field rules, and a legal waiver.

Lease agreements and field diagrams I will touch on briefly. Make sure the person you are leasing from is fully aware of what you intend to do with the property, and make sure your airsoft field is legal under your lease and abides all local laws. You do not want to find out later that your time and money are wasted because of a technicality. Field diagrams need not be detailed, a simple outline will suffice, and the insurance company appear to be most concerned with entrances and exits.

You will need to supply field rules before most insurance companies will even supply you with a quote. Whether good or bad, the insurance company will dictate most of the rules you will need. The remaining field rules usually entail the administrative and management of the field, and will be dependent on your field layout and the types of games you will be hosting. A lot of fields have rules posted on the internet and can be a good jumping off point.

The legal waiver should be drawn up by a local attorney. Hosting an event of this type is nothing out of the norm; most will charge a nominal fee to draft one for you. You may have to take a little time to acquaint your attorney with airsoft, and it may not be a bad idea to let them review your lease agreement will you are there.

Opening an airsoft field does not require a great deal money beyond the property lease. Once you have all of the legal aspects taken care of, the real work begins. How are you going to construct, manage, and operate your new field? Now the hard work begins.

DE M56AL Tri-Shot Long Airsoft Shotgun

I am a huge fan of shotguns, they are big, loud, and brutal. The "M56AL" competes to do just that. This shotgun is produced by the company Double Eagle which hasn't exactly had a reputation of building the highest quality replicas. Let's see if this breaks the trend.

Appearance/Feel/Handling-
There is no mistaking this shotgun for the real thing, the exterior is mediocre.

Stock: The stock is made of a lightly textured plastic. It is decently solid although it is a little creaky between the stock and the receiver. There is a sling mount on the side of the stock although I'm not sure I'd rely on the pot metal it's made of. The butt pad is firmly mounted and made of a shiny, hard rubber. It offers a bit more grip in the shoulder but not much else.

Receiver: The plastic on the receiver is shiny and has no texture. The plastic is adequate but not impressive. A firm squeeze yields a bit of bend, proof the material is maybe a bit soft. There are some very, very small mold marks but nothing I'd be upset about.

Grip and Forestock: The grip and pump are both covered in the same rubberized coating. The coating offers better grip and looks much better than the rest of the bare plastic on the replica. After handling, the rubber shows the oil from your hands. There is a thick seem in the bottom of the pump. Overall, I'm glad the rubber texture is there but it's not perfect.

Each pump slides from here...

....to here.

Outer Barrel Area: The outer barrel and cocking tube are both made of metal. Pot metal but metal none-the-less. An orange plastic ring is glued to the end to identify that it is not real. A sling mount is placed in front, but again I'm not sure I'd trust it.

The shotgun is easy to snap to the shoulder but has some issues with feel. The trigger is too far and too high so it feels like a bit of a stretch. The location of the pump also feels a bit far away, from the perspective of someone who is 5'10".

Performance-
The performance of this shotgun is reminiscent of a real shotgun, short range and spread accuracy. With each pump this replica fires three bbs. This is a cool feature however it doesn't work as perfectly as you'd hope. Up to about 15-20 yards all three bbs will impact within the size of a torso. After that distance though one bb curves sharply up, one bb curves sharply down, and one bb flies true. This means that after 20 yards only one bb is truely effective, this one bb though reaches out about 30 yards. All things considered this shotgun should be used for CQC and other short range scenarios. I would not recommend this for field use, you simply won't keep up with AEGs.

FPS: 302.6 with AE .2 on Madbull chrono

The trigger is a little sloppy but the user can still feel when it is about to release. The trigger pull is short but heavy. Pumping the shotgun is not too strenuous. The pull is deceiving, you have to pull back further than you think you should. There is a thick click at the end of the pull.

The replica uses a 30 round shell as a magazine. It can be easily loaded and works perfectly.

Problems-
The metal used in this replica is nothing special so this may become a problem in the future. I do question the long term reliability of this replica. The way this springer works puts a lot of stress on the internal components which may eventually result in their failure.

Conclusion-
This shotgun does not give a lot in the way of performance but is still fun to mess around with. It would work for close quarters but is unusable in any kind of ranged encounter.

Pros:
-Price
-3 shots per pump
-Shell magazine

Cons:
-Short range
-Build materials
-Unrealistic feel

Valuable Airsoft Guns Accessories

An airsoft gun accessory can be the missing link between having an average gun for the sport of airsoft and having a qualified specialized gun for the game. If you make certain additions to your airsoft gun, you will have the ability to play the game better and with more exacting precision. This grants you the ability to punish your opponents and become the ultimate master of airsoft, all for the addition of a simple airsoft gun accessory. These accessories are traditionally made in Asia and are offered as parts of packages or other deals on the airsoft merchandise.

There are ways for the airsoft gun accessory to be purchased in North America, for example, and this is generally done online over the internet or with a catalog that is sometimes available from various airsoft dealers. There are professional airsoft shops throughout the world now, offering great advice and other merchandise to go with your airsoft gun. For this reason, the sport is becoming more and more popular and is fast shooting its way to the top of the adventure game charts. It is even beginning to surpass paintball and other games of adventure and survival.

Picking Your Accessory

You may want to consider your airsoft gun accessory in terms of a survival unit. When shopping for an accessory for your gun, you should term it in terms of what you want and what you need for survival. Wants should be secondary to needs, so ensure that you are filling your shopping cart up with the essentials first and the extras second. You may want to consider a variety of scopes that will improve your shot monitoring, for example, so these should be considered as a want or a need depending on how your shot is without a scope. If it needs work, you probably need a scope.

Other things to consider to purchase as an airsoft gun accessory could be a carrying case or some sort of grips that you can add to the handle. This, again, will fall under either the want or need category. As far as any airsoft gun accessory goes, the assessment should be made by the user as everyone is going to use the gun a different way and experience the game in unique forms. This is part of the appeal, making airsoft one of the most unique and user-specific games on the planet for adventure and fun.

Guide to Gas Blowback Airsoft Gun

A gas blowback airsoft gun enables you to experience the power of other counterpart replicas and airsoft guns with the power of gas as the main propellant to the pellets. Using these guns is becoming more and more popular because of the approaching popularity of the overwhelmingly exciting sport of airsoft. Airsoft is the latest in survival sports games sweeping the country, with comparisons to paintball and laser tag barely doing it justice. With a glass gas blowback airsoft gun at your side, you can be an airsoft force to be reckoned with out on the field of play.

Airsoft is a competitive sports combat-related game that enables players to shoot one another with BBs or pellets from airsoft guns like the gas blowback airsoft gun. These guns are effectively replica guns of their real counterparts and look so close to the real thing that they are often confused with the actual firepower. Using these guns requires extreme safety and caution, so airsoft is not recommended for minors or those without the ability to fire a gun and maintain safety regulations. Regulations are in place at all licensed airsoft facilities and should be followed to the letter of the law.

There are several options for a gun for play in airsoft. Personally, I enjoy the gas blowback airsoft gun because it allows a considerable amount of power and force with the power of gas behind the pellets. This type of system is generally less noisy than the electric or other counterparts, enabling the user a lot more in the way of "sneaky" fire on their opponents. Firing pellets at the speed that the gas blowback airsoft gun allows is quite the exhilarating experience and should be felt by everyone with a desire to fire a real gun but no capabilities to do so.

A Final Word On Safety

When you are dealing with a gas blowback airsoft gun, be sure that you are in tune with the safety mechanisms at all times so that you do not encounter any sort of accidental firing of the gun or any other accidental moves that could cause injury or death. This type of weapon should be taken seriously at all times as it is exactly what it says it is: a weapon. The fact that it is a replica does not negate any dangerous aspects to the equipment, so take care with your gas blowback airsoft gun and follow all precautions.

Taking Proper Care of Your Airsoft Gun

As an airsoft gun owner, you should want to take care of your investment so that it can be used and enjoyed for years into the future. Having an airsoft gun that wears out before it's time or starts malfunctioning due to poor airsoft gun care is not only entirely avoidable, but also really unnecessary. If you've just purchased an airsoft gun and are looking for ways to keep it in prime condition, here are some great airsoft gun care tips to consider.

Cleaning the Barrel

The barrel of your airsoft gun should be cleaned after every use. If you live in a sandy environment, this is especially important. If you own an electric airsoft gun, you'll want to fire several shots in the semi-automatic mode in order to decompress the gearbox once you're done firing, though some guns have a button which will decompress the spring. With spring air guns, be sure not to leave the gun cocked, with the safety on to help prevent accidental injury. You'll also want to consider spraying a non-corrosive silicone spray into the gun barrel and hop-up chamber occasionally to help keep your airsoft gun in good working order.

Magazine Care

For electric and spring airsoft guns, you'll want to empty the magazine after each use to help preserve the strength of the magaine spring. This will help ensure long time enjoyment from your airsoft gun. Magazines for gas airsoft pistols though should be left pressurized so that all the necessary seals stay in tact. If the gas you're using doesn't havae silicon lubricant in it, then add a drop or two on the internals, otherwise you should be all right. Always remember that when expelling gas from your airsoft gun to never use the release valve, as you run the risk of freezing the O ring which can cause gas leakage in the future.

Observing the Batteries

Batteries are an important part of the lifepan of electric airsoft guns. Be sure to use batteries with the correct voltage. A battery with excess voltage will cause the gearbox to cycle at a rate that could damage internal components of your gun; while a battery with voltage too low can result in lack of power to cycle the gearbox at all. You will also need to be aware of the mAh of your battery. This will indicate how long a battery will continue to power your gearbox. Batteries with a higher mAh have a higher current draw which will increase the firing rate of your gun.

Airsoft Gun Touch Ups

As you continue to use and enjoy your airsoft gun, you may notice the paint starting to scratch or wear off. Experts typically advise against touching up your gun. If a full repainting is required be sure to use a flat, enamel based spray such as Krylon, or check with an airsoft retailer who will offer painting service to return your airsoft gun to it's original appearance.

With the proper airsoft gun care, you can ensure that your air gun will be in excellent working order for many years to come!

Tokyo Marui Colt Hi-Capa

This is a very brief review of the Tokyo Marui Colt Hi-Capa. The much-awaited Colt Hi-Capa shipment arrived at Guernsey yesterday (02/08/04)! It was bought in by Battletech in Guernsey who tend to get stuff a few weeks before the mainland. They offer excellent prices and get the best gear in first. Now I was trying to save this month but damn it these things are so cool! So I, along with a few other guys, became the first people in the UK to own one of these beauties!

Despite its mainly plastic construction the Colt feels sturdy when you first pick it up. As with all other Tokyo Marui GBBs the construction is top quality with no noticeable seams or rattles. The magazines are large and are of all metal construction and they hold a large amount of gas, similar to the Desert Eagle's capacity, and hold 31 rounds.

The pistol itself features blow-back (obviously), adjustable hop up, dual safety and adjustable sights. It fires with a very crisp action and this is probably down to the lightweight top slide. The blowback action is stronger than a TM Beretta's but not quite up to the arm wrenching action of the TM Desert Eagle. The box claims "Hi-Kick, Hi-Grouping", yes, well they're right about the first part but I'm not to sure about the "Hi-Grouping" claim! Saying that the double tap with this pistol is very controllable and you can keep the grouping quite close but if you start hammering the trigger you can expect to suffer slightly in the accuracy department! Obviously this is no different from any other gas blow-back.

I have not messed around with the adjustable hop yet because it is hopped perfectly for 0.2s out of the box. The hop up can be adjusted by removing the top slide and adjusting a wheel, not as easily accessible as the TM Desert Eagle's system but still fairly simple to use. The rear site is also adjustable through 2 turn screws built into it but I have not needed to adjust mine, as they are pinpoint out of the box.

Power is impressive and I would guess it’s at about 300-330FPS. It will penetrate one side of a coke can and crack the other side. You can download a video from this site of me firing the pistol through a can. Despite this power the magazine has enough gas capacity to last about two and a half mags, which is impressive when you consider these magazines hold 31 rounds! You will also find that you get no noticeable power fade till after you've fired off at least 2 mags worth of bbs on one gas charge. This is very impressive as most gas pistols start to lose power before you've even got to the end of your second mag. It will even maintain its power when you rattle off a whole mag as quickly as you can!

The trigger is light and sensitive and you can fire off a whole mag exceptionally quickly due to the short trigger pull and quick cycling action.

There are a couple of problems with the Colt Hi-Capa. Firstly the magazines seem to jam up every so often although this is due to their newness and another owner claims this can be cured by giving the mag a quick clean with silicone (amendment- The magazines do wear in after having been used a few times and mine no longer jam up). The other issue is that the top slide release is a long way from your thumb so you have to take your finger away from the trigger to release the top slide, when it locks back, or use your other hand. I normally run a tac master and I find them better ergonomically, although the safety is very well placed on the 1911 frame. The other slightly more severe problem is the O-ring that sits on the piston head like to go walkies!

Echo 1 M4 RIS Review

If you have been into airsoft for a while then you know about Echo 1, but incase you haven’t here is the shake down. Echo 1 shook up the airsoft market about 10 months ago by providing high performance airsoft guns for a fraction of what you would normally pay. A year go from today if you wanted a quality built airsoft gun, inside and out, you had to spend close, to or more than, $300.00. However if your budget was closer to $150.00 to $200.00 the only airsoft guns available at that price could barely shoot and the only guarantee you had was that it would break, and leave you no other option than to buy another gun. Since October 2006 Echo 1 has been providing durable, performance airsoft guns for players on a budget. The Echo 1 AEG’s performance is on par with well established airsoft gun makers like Tokyo Marui and Classic Army, but Echo 1 only cost about half as much. High performance guns at low costs, it doesn’t get much better than that right? Wrong! This may seem unfathomable but Echo 1 has made their guns even better. One of the hottest selling guns on the market, the Echo1 M4 Carbine, is now available with a rail interface system (RIS). It may seem like only a minor improvement but it can make a world of difference.

RIS units are a must have for players that want an edge over their opponent. The RIS in itself has no bearing on the gun’s firing capability, but what it does is allow for an increase in the gun’s potential and the user’s efficiency. When two players square off against each other the gun with the RIS could be the deciding factor between who sits out and who keeps playing, assuming both players are of similar skill and experience. If tactics and shooting capability are the same then the only remaining factor is physics. The player with the RIS that has a flashlight attached to it will have a fully illuminated target; on the other hand the player with no RIS cannot fire with confidence because they would not be able to see what they are shooting at. Adding a laser sight to a RIS is especially effective for quick target acquisition. By combining those two tools and activating them with pressure switches attached to a vertical grip, which allows the user to fire with a more natural wrist position, the user is completely combat ready.

This gun is a perfect example of a RIS that is utilized to its full potential:

The Echo 1 M4 RIS is the cheapest monetary solution to having a completely upgradeable airsoft gun, internally and externally. The M4 RIS is the perfect airsoft gun for novice players who are ready to buy their first AEG. The price is right, only $155.00, for a gun with sound internals and externals ready to be accessorized as the user develops more skill. When considering what to buy for a first airsoft gun it is important to keep the future in mind. At first thought some might think that they would never use a RIS so they wouldn’t consider spending the money on it. However it is better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. The Echo 1 M4 RIS is only $10.00 more than the standard M4 Carbine, but if you have regular M4 and bought the RIS separately then the total cost of that gun would be $200.00 or more. It is always going to be a little bit cheaper to buy an airsoft gun already equipped with a RIS than to assemble it afterwards, in the case of the Echo 1 guns it is a lot cheaper. Just try it out for yourself, the best way to understand the advantages of having a RIS is to use one in battle.

Sniper Rifles and Tactics

Sniper Rifles and Tactics

Airsoft gun games are the most exciting ways to enjoy and explore the use of guns in a safe and secure environment. If organized well they can provide all the thrills and the adrenalin rush of a real battle situation without the fatalities.

Participants play in a variety of simulated situations. Players can engage in short term skirmishes, organized situations with a number of players involved, military simulations and even historical re-enactments. Airsoft gun games using both pistols and Airsoft rifles can be played during daylight hours or the heat can be turned up by playing in night time conditions. Each situation calls for some guidelines on how to achieve the aims of winning. We are here into a discussion of tactics. In its broadest sense, tactics are about finding the right actions to take to achieve a particular set of aims. In the context of airsoft gun games we are talking about establishing a military strategy where strategy is the larger-scale framework of direction and control and it follows that military tactics include specific offensives or maneuvers in the presence of battle. This is not a game for woosies!

Despite having the overall aim of taking down the enemy, different guns with their respective features are used in different ways to achieve this goal. And each player using their particular weapon will have a different role in the overall strategy of the game.

Below are some of the basics of tactics in Airsoft gun military strategy:-

Positions for carrying your gun – these include tactical carry, alert carry, guard positions and threat positions.

Basic Gun Marksmanship – including shooting position essentials, correct body support, trigger squeeze and firing positions.

Firing during combat – including rapid semi-auto firing, rapid reload and quick firing.

Target Detection – this includes search techniques, target indicators, target marking and use of the ‘Map Method’.

Other strategies include covering and concealing personnel, co-coordinating the team, guidelines for tactical movements and night –time fighting.

While everybody can join in the game, one of the most popular roles is the ‘Airsoft Sniper’ sometimes known as the Lone Wolf or ‘Rogue of Airsofting’. This seems to be because of the marksmanship of the role such as the stealth involved, the power of the sniper rifle, and for many the sheer ‘coolness’ of being the sniper. His main tactical aim is to set up the perfect ambush and take out the enemy with a combination of cunning, speed and precision.

What would the sniper choose as his weapon? This Airsoft warrior plays with a Sniper Airsoft Rifle, designed for accurate, long range shooting with high velocity.

In a snap shot, here’s how to be an effective ‘sniper’.

In order to become an effective sniper or marksman, here are a few tips:

Know the features of your gun. This is basic for all airsoft players alike, but crucial for the airsoft sniper. Knowing the shooting range of your gun and the best way to hit your target.

Travel light. Whether you are a mobile sharpshooter or a stationary sniper, try to travel light. The Sniper Airsoft Rifle allows you to fire quietly, that’s its advantage, but moving quickly is aided by traveling as light as possible.

Choose your BB’s well. Heavier BBs allow for better accuracy but you may lose on the ability to cover a longer distance.

Be patient. Patience and stealth is the hallmark of a good sniper. Don’t just fire the first time you see your target. You do not want to be detected a missed shot could mean your position is compromised.

Stay cool. Being nervous means your hands will shake, your goggles mist over and you lose sight of your target. Stay cool and wait for the best shot.

Work with a spotter. As in the military, most snipers do not actually work alone. Your spotter is there to support you if things are not right for you to snipe effectively.

Fine tune your skills. While it might be the most exciting role in the game for some, it is also one of the most skilled. The more you know your Sniper Airsoft Rifles and its capabilities, how to use different cocking positions and accessories like a bipod and shoulder strap the easier it will be to find the best sniping maneuvers that ensure success in the game.

There are many types of Sniper Airsoft Rifle available. A good, quality internet stockist will be able to provide you with the most appropriate model for your level of skill and ability and of course provide you with an upgraded model as you hone your sniping skills.
